Catyra's Power Breakfast with Oats! O.o

This is a breakfast that will give you energy to burn later. Go oats!

Plus you can dress your oats up by adding your favorite fruits or berries. Mmm, blueberries! This is another great reason (besides pancakes) to keep frozen blueberries on hand. Just toss them in during step one and they will heat while your oats cook.

What you need:
1 cup of Oatmeal
1 to 1-1/3 cups of water (or milk to make it creamier)
1 egg
1-3 teaspoons of cinnamon (to taste)
**optional** blueberries, apples, whatever...to taste! XD

Step 1. Microwave a cup of regular oatmeal with the water, on high for 2.5 minutes.

**Add frozen fruit here.

Step 2. Remove and add the egg in your oat. Stir vigorously to evenly disperse the egg. It should look cloudy.

Step 3. Stir in your cinnamon (no sugar).

Step 4. Microwave for another 2.5 minutes.

Step 5. Remove and add some milk (to make it a creamier, and slightly less sticky concoction) and anything else you want. You can add some fruit or real maple syrup.

Catyra writes, "You now have whole grains, two sources of protein, and nutrients from any toppings you added. Serve with orange juice for added morning kick and day-long energy. Best thing is, all natural and healthy.

Just don't add any sugar or anything containing corn syrup or you've just counteracted the whole purpose of the meal."

Elwynn Forest Lumberjack Special, aka Crepes by Randalflagg

Might not be ultra-fast gamer foods, but these are as easy to make as they are delicious! Additionally, these do not contain corn starch/syrup, and will fill you up. Don't run around Northrend hungry. Eat some crepes instead!

Basically, a crepe is like a very thin pancake. They are wonderfully light and delicious. If you try this recipe and would like your crepes a little thinner, use only 1/2 cup of milk, and add in 1/2 cup of water.

What you need:
1 cup flour
1 cup milk
1 egg

Optional Toppings: Blueberries, Strawberries, Maple Syrup, Chocolate Sauce (like Nuttella). Pretty much anything you'd put on a pancake, you could use on these. I've also seen cheese, and meat crepes (think about chicken waffles), so those would work as well.

This recipe will make 4 large crepes.

Step 1. Take all of the above and mix them together well (very well, because uncooked flour lumps aren't appetizing).

Step 2. Once you have the mixture ready, at this point you could either go straight to the frying pan, or you could add some other seasonings for taste, like cinnamon or vanilla extract. If you add stuff, mix again until it's evenly distributed throughout the mixture.

Step 3. Cook the crepes in a frying pan on medium to low heat. Make sure that each crepe is cooked all the way through.

**Note** How much of the mixture per crepe really depends on how big and thick you want them.

Step 4. Once a crepe is done cooking on each side, find a way to keep it warm until you're finished cooking the rest. This way, you don't have to reheat them later. I suggest an oven-safe plate and keep them on the stove near (but not too close) to your frying pan.

When you're finished, you should end with the crepe equivalent of a short-stack.

Enjoy!

Nubcakes! Aka Whole Wheat Banana Pancakes

For those who are new to my post, I am a whole wheat nut. This is a recipe for a whole wheat breakfast treat. Making your own pancakes has never tasted so good! The greatest part is how simple it is to make the batter. It took about 4 minutes to get all my ingredients out and mix this up. The cook time will take about 7-10 minutes.

What you need:
1 cup of regular white flour
1 cup of whole wheat flour
2 eggs, beaten
1-1/3 cups of milk
1 teaspoon of vanilla
2 teaspoons of baking powder
3/4 teaspoon of salt
1-2 bananas mushed (I am a banana freak, so I mushed up two.)
**Optional** 1/2 cup of Walnuts, chopped into small bits

2-3 tablespoons of vegetable oil or butter for the pan

**This will make about 10-12 pancakes.

Step 1. In a large mixing bowl mush up your banana.

Step 2. Add in the rest of the ingredients and stir until the mixture is even.

Step 3. Turn on your pan and let it get hot before you grease with butter or oil. This will give your batter the minute or two it needs to rest and thicken. Cook the pancakes on medium heat, so the outsides don't burn.

Step 4. Use approximately 1/4 cup of the pancake mix if you want small dials. If you want monster pancakes, use enough to cover the bottom of the pan with about a 1/2 cm or so layer of batter.

Step 5. When the top of the pancake is big and bubbly, flip it. You should only flip once.

Variation: Nubcakes fer da newbz
Instead of mixing your own batter you can use pancake mixes from the store. These are very tasty too. I tend to avoid ones with fruity fillings, and just add my own fresh fruit.

Also, if you have a sweet tooth you can add in a few chocolate chips.

Sausage and Eggs

Most of us do not eat healthy 100% of the time. Sometimes bacon and eggs (or sausages) just hit the spot. Use turkey based sausages/bacon for a slightly less coronary clogging meal.

Remember eggs are actually very good for you! They are high in protein, and if you'd like to use a cooking spray or cook the eggs separately from the sausages this will save you a ton of calories.

What you need:
For an individual serving
2 eggs made your favorite way (in the photo they are "up")
3 pieces of sausage or bacon
1-2 pieces of toast

Serve with the toast on the side, or as a sandwich.
